We are available to advise on and install a wide selection of roofing products to suit your unique style and budget. We understand the importance of a roof, not just for keeping the rain out and warmth in, but also for style, colour and finish.
We are a member of RANZ (Roofing Association of New Zealand), we have Site Safe (GOLD) Certification and we are an Approved Class B Asbestos removal company.
At Central Roofing we offer a wide range of specialist roofing services for both Residential and Commercial buildings around New Plymouth and Taranaki.
This stunning house was built by the team at Hofmans Builders.
With a view shaft to the Tasman sea, this raw but elegant house sits proud on the street.
Clad in a pleasing balance of styleline black corrugated iron and vertical cedar weatherboards, the home features generous glazing with slatted shutters for privacy.
A deceptive simplicity underpins the design. The New Plymouth home is comprised of two rectangular boxes – one on top of the other. The upper cantilevers in two directions over the lower, creating a car port in front of the garage and covered alfresco space to the rear. Its stacked open forms enjoy an easy connection to the outdoors and to upper-level sea views.
The black iron and soft wood tones create a lovely cohesion with the modern interior.
The home incorporates a rich materiality, texture and colour, and provides a sense of openness that fully connects with its surroundings.
Hovering high above the horizon when visiting this house you are confronted with captivating views of Mount Taranaki.
The roof and wall cladding featuring Melalcrafts Kahu Profile in New Denim Blue delivers a visual impact without disrupting the landscape.
Revelling in its stunning rural location, the residence makes a bold statement in the landscape.
As this house is located close to the beach, we provided the ideal solution for the sloped roof areas using Colorsteel® Maxx® in the colour Cloud and in Corrugate for the profile. Colorsteel® Maxx® pre-painted steel is specifically designed for New Zealand’s more extreme conditions and will stand up to higher atmospheric salt concentrations, which is perfect near our rugged coastline.
On the flat roof areas, we used Viking Enviroclad TPO 1.52mm in the colour Grey which offers absolute watertight integrity for low-slope roofs. We are proud to be one of Taranaki’s largest, licensed installers for Viking products.

The Lakeside Soldiers Memorial Hall was rebuilt in 2018 following a long project planning and fundraising process. Built to replace the original building which was damaged in the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011, the new hall is oriented northwest towards Harts Creek and remarkable vista of the Southern Alps across the Cantabrian plains.
Lakeside Soldiers Memorial Hall is one of the 7 Winners of 2019 Canterbury Architecture Award – Public Architecture.
The highlight of this project was seeing it all come together. Working with the architect and installers making sure all the ribs were lined up. There was a lot of technical setting out work on this job, especially with the windows as they were manufactured to suit the width of one tray. Installing and flashing the tray was challenging, but as always it came together.
